  • Ernie Ball - Music Man guitars are a solid value

I purchased this guitar to match another Albert Lee HH, as I always have a two matching guitars onstage in case of string breakage or other issue. The first one is a metallic red color with a rosewood neck. The new one also has the rosewood neck, and is a flashy silver sparkle finish. Neck: This is where all EBMM guitars shine, the necks are consistently good on any one I have ever picked up. This includes an EBMM Stingray 5 HH bass I own. I especially like the natural finish necks such as the rosewood necks on these guitars; just smooth as silk. Frets are nice, more Fender than Gibson in feel. No dead spots at all, which is the same as every EBMM neck. Pickups: Custom Dimarzios, a great sounding middle sort of hotness, that can be very clean but sounds great into an overdriven amp or similar models. Volume control varies signal well, only one volume and tone, so no Gibson-style Phil Keaggy type volume tricks but the taper is smooth and as good as my other upscale guitars. Controls allow splits that replicate single coil-ish sounds very well, without losing a ton of volume. All selector switch possibilities are musical and useful. Other: Scale is between Fender and Gibson, and has a nice snap to it. PRS also uses a similar scale on the 513, my normal "do all" guitar and this is one of the best features of this guitar. It contributes to sounding accurate on standard sounds, while giving it a sound that isn't just standard. Fit and finish is first rate, and the metallic paint application is completely spot-on... no small feat with this sparkly a finish. The trem is solid, but only goes down, no pulling up. This is a design feature Albert wanted and is fine with me, I rarely use trem anyway, but I mention it as some may have an issue with the setup. I don't know if whatever is blocking it can be removed. I got a great deal on this guitar from Leitz Music, a first rate eBay seller.

  • Pro quality at an amazing value.

MusicMans are the most underrated production guitars in the market. The Albert Lee HH is incredibly versatile and a joy to play. The tone and sustain are a beautiful thing to hear. I've owned and played many Gibsons, Strats, PRS and boutique/customs guitars. This model plays equally or better than all. The rosewood neck and fretboard feel incredible. Like you are running your hands over your lover and she is responding by releasing the most passionate encouraging sounds ever emitted. While the shape may appear odd, it is so well balanced that I can play for three hours very comfortably. More so than my lightest Strat. The African Mahogony is light and sustains forever. Do yourself a favor. If you can find one of these with the additional coil control engaged by lifting the tone pot, grab it. It gives this guitar 10 useable positions, sounds amazing, and is responsive to every nuance of your soul.

  • Great tone and easy to play well

The MM Albert Lee HH has awesome tone through any type of amp (tube or modeler). The body lays very comfortably and the neck is amazing. Outplays all my guitars (PRS's, strats, Les Paul's).
