Poor design and brittle plastic lets them down badly.
I am now on my 3rd or 4th, possibly more, set of this wheel holder from Thules. They are not well made as the plastic is very thin where the metal clip connects to metal rail. You can see this in the pictures associated with the product, This plastic strip breaks. We have four sets of Thule bars which are great, this plastic clamp is not. Every single one has broken in the same place over the last 4-5 years. So I buy new ones. The fitting itself is good and clever, the metal clips are fine as are the straps. Sadly the plastic frame appears to be too brittle and is basically junk. Thules need to make them stronger, from aluminium or redesign them.
