I'd never heard of these things before I took up colouring books so decided to give them a go. They work by smudging(blending) colours together.although I'd suggest going from the lighter colours to the darker ones,otherwise you'll just end up with the darker one! It works better with pencils rather than coloured ones. The same technique I mentioned applies. These paper stumps are so useful for blending when you are drawing in charcoal. I have used them over and over again for various values in my drawings.
