    Silly blue birds

The blue birds are still struggling to figure it out. I took out one of the plexiglass panels and guess who showed up for dinner-the starlings! I glued a small perch just below one of the plexiglass openings and am waiting to see if that helps.

Entry holes not correct for Bluebirds

Quality is good but it's not designed for bluebirds. The access holes in each end are too small. My bluebirds couldn't get in it until I enlarged the holes. They would try but the entrance holes were too tight. I assumed this would be as advertised, BLUEBIRD FEEDER, but the design measurements were not correct for Bluebirds.

  • Modified for live use of mealworms and crickets

Excellent construction and quality materials. This is an excellent dry mealworm feeder. However, I wanted to feed live mealworms and love cruckets, so I added a plastic floor, end pieces, and ceiling panels. Live mealworms stay put, and only an occasional cricket gets a lucky enough jumP that it gets out one of the entrance holes. Mine( and I have 2), are doing what I expected them to do. Will buy a couple more eventually

  • Bluebirds love it!!

Within a couple days the bluebirds were visiting this house to enjoy their mealworms. Though the grackles and starlings can hang on and get some when you first put them out, they can't get inside!! The bluebirds can enjoy their mealworms in peace! It's so well made and I saw the same thing on Amazon for twice the price! We have one out front and one out back! Thanks!!

  • It works.

I have only hung the bird feeder for two days. I placed dry mealworms inside the feeder taking one plexi-glass wall off. Bluebirds have made multiple visits on both days. Next I will replace the plexiglass to keep the larger birds our of the feeder.

  • Bluebirds finally figured it out!

This is nice feeder and is priced well. However, our bluebirds just look at it and cannot figure it out! Tried leaving one side out, but the Starlings took over. Keep thinking the bluebirds will figure it out, but it has been 2 weeks. The wrens won’t go in either. Addendum: The bluebirds finally figured it out after about 3 weeks and a heavy snowstorm!

At first the birds would not enter the feeder but after about a week the blue birds entered the feeder! Very well built and easy to fill.
