It was new old stock but it works ok.
When I received the unit the rubber grip parts of it were covered with a thick sticky goo that's typical when these parts are beginning to break down. So I had to wash the goo off with soap and water before I could use it. Also the 2 AA batteries supplied were dead leaking and unusable. Also Indicating this unit was sitting on a shelf for years !! The fact that it was new old stock was not revealed in the description and it should have been. However after cleaning and installing new batteries the unit is working well and as intended.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
