Colonel Chris Hadfield used the Larrivee P09 acoustic guitar in space while taking charge of the International Space Station, and now you can bring this extra-stellar instrument into your living room. It's designed for right-handed players, and it comes with a standard six-string configuration. You'll enjoy the all-wood construction and the single-piece mahogany neck. It also offers Sitka spruce for the soundboard and bracing, African ebony fretboard and bridge, and rosewood back and sides. This instrument features a symmetrical parabolic X-bracing and a pearl logo, which is set against a sterling silver border. Chrome tuners use an 18:1 ratio, and the ivoroid fretboard offers a resilient design that's built to last. Finger style heaven
I got interested in parlor sized guitars a few years ago when I realized a lot of the old blues players often used them. I've gone through a few of the lower priced ones and was pretty happy with the tone but I always wanted one that had better craftsmanship and woods. this Larrrivee P90 is about as good as it gets. it projects well, the tone is what you expect from a smaller body. the workmanship and attention to detail is outstanding and the intonation is spot on. it's designed to use medium gauge strings which really sound great on it and the action is low enough to take mediums and still be very comfortable. the quality of the woods is top notch. to top it off, the case is made as well as the instrument that it holds. if you play folk, finger style blues or just want something smaller than a dreadnought, this is the guitar for you.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Great Soundf for a small parlor size guitar
I was not expecting this quality from a small bodied guitar but I should have known...it's a Larrivee. They put quality above all else and it shows. Perfect balance and easy feel. The neck is the same dimensions as a full size guitar so it does not feel unusual in your hands when fretting. Their left handed instruments have great intonation and tuners, so there is not problem with dead spots or buzzing frets. All around, after I installed a LR Baggs Anthem SL, this parlor size guitar now sounds full size and sweet. The end pin just unscrews and is easily removed so there is no need for a Tech. The top vibrates evenly so there is no howling notes or unusual feedback. The size is fun to play everywhere. The finish is superb as is the woods used in construction, solid and lightweight.
