Better than expected
I brought this for my Nan for when she’s knitting, she just wanted a magnifying glass. But this is better as hands free. It’s all plastic so at first I thought it was a bit flimsy. But I put too AAA battery’s in an tied the string around your neck a bit smaller to suit and it’s so clear, and light weight. The lights bright, It’s perfect, I could see all the imperfections on my nail polish. She will love it, I’m going to get one for doing my nails.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

A great idea BUT...
I bought this for my mother who (obviously) is visual impaired. It is a great BUT for a few flaws. The plastic that the unit's frame is made from seems flimsy, not a problem in itself but I can see that there may be a problem later on with the legs as they unclip from the back of the frame. They are held in the closed position with clips that have to be forced open with some considerable difficulty - at least for someone with older hands or weaker grip. The magnifier itself is also prone to scratching easily. The cord for hanging the device around the neck is a really good idea but it could be improved by making it adjustable when in this position. There is a bit of guess work getting the length of the cord right and even then, maybe the user would like to 'fine-tune' its position when in situ. However, all in all, the magnifier works and the built-in battery-powered light is essential for my mother's needs - great addition to the product! I think that for the money, the quality of the plastic (the stiffness of the clip), lets the side down, hence my award of only 3 stars.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Emergency reading device
It is better than nothing when I broke my reading glasses. The lens is plastic and it is not as clear as reading glasses and it takes time to position it correctly, so easy reading is out of the question. OK, but not as good as I hoped.
Bought to use with very detailed jig-saw puzzle and it was not quite as good as I had hoped. Distorts image at certain angles, frame a little flimsy and the neck string gets in the way. Worth what I paid for it, quite good quality for the money.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Ok but better out there
Balances really well on your chest to use around neck if only it was glass not plastic as it reflects badly , scratches easy and you have to hold the items do close to the plastic to see clearly you often bump your needles . Ok for price but could be betterVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not value for money

Poor Quality Lens
This item has a poor quality lens creating a lot of distortion. I have macular degeneration and this item has not helped my condition one bit. When used with either the inbuilt lighting or with side or overhead house lighting the lens reflects glare. Wouldn't recommend unless it was for a kids toy.
Disappointed. The saying you get what you pay for certainly applies here. Flimsy cheap bendy plastic. Battery cover doesn't fit mine and now lost because it kept falling off. I wouldn't recommend.
