and rubber feet...
Good components and clear instructions made this motor speed controller repair relatively easy. Now have the mixer working again. Thus kit comes with replacement rubber feet which raise the body and allow for cooling air to get to the motor. Essential to use these, but the old ones were so hard they had to be ground out with a small Dremmel head which look like a dentist drill.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Gives a dead food mixer the kiss of life
This package of components is a reasonable price and is more cost effective than having to identify and source the individual components. Comprehensive instructions are also provided. All things considered a great solution that I didn't expect to find. I now enjoy a Christmas cake produced by a mixer given the kiss of life.. I've rated the package 4 stars and not easy to use because confidence to dismantle the mixer is needed as well as soldering skill. Brilliant way to rejuvenate a Chef
Our Chef stopped working after 40+ years of sterling service. Having a few very useful attachments I was keen to see if it could be repaired. A quick search on Google revealed that it was likely to be a failure of small electrical components and I found this kit available. It seemed sensible to check the brushes and the old feet had almost disappeared, so I ordered the whole kit. This turned up the very next day, much quicker than predicted on ordering. An email was received attaching very detailed and comprehensive instructions on how to carry out the repair. I dusted off my old soldering iron and spent an afternoon carefully following the instructions, at the end of which the motor worked! Brilliant service kit at a great price
This is a brilliant service kit for the Kenwood A901. It replaces all the key components that can result in the mixer not working properly or at all. Also great simple to follow instructions with good advice. In my case the mixer had only one speed when turned on (which is far too quick for slow mixing). The speed could only be varied after number 6 on the speed control dial. This was due to on of the resistors being fried and gone open circuit. The advice was to replace both resistors and both capacitors as it was possible that the capacitor caused the resistor to fail. Whilst the repair is straight forward you do need soldering skills and the instruction do advise this. However, result is that the mixer is working perfectly with progressive and completely controllable speed right up to maximum. Absolutely cracking kit at a cracking price. It also comes with replacement brushes (which I didn't need) and complete set of new feet which I thought was a nice touch. I fitted the new components to the motor control circuit, and this solved the problem with the mixer only running a few seconds before stopping. Excellent News. Improvements I would like to see: The capacitor supplied have short legs which made fitting difficult the replacement components awkward. Solution: Future kits should be supplied with capacitors which have longer leads. Replacement feet: Supply replacement pins for these feet.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
