Versatile and quiet LED dimmer
This dimmer module replaced a cheap €8 leading edge module. It was easy to install and worked right away. Some magic switch presses that are in the instructions allow for further configuration; you can change the type of dimming operation (two types of trailing edge mode or leading edge mode) and the minimum dimming level so you can customise the full range of the dimmer knob to the type of bulb that you have. My previous dimmer module buzzed annoyingly at all settings other than off and it also caused the IKEA Ledare dimmable bulbs to buzz too. Now with the Varilight V Pro dimmer, the bulbs are silent and there's no noise from the dimmer switch either.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Had to modify my existing switch plate to accomodate V-Pro Module.
Working fine just now.Hoping the spring action will last longer than my original switch ( not a Varilight part ). Main disappointment with the V-Pro is the insufficient length of the centre threaded part. I had to modify my switch plates as intially I was unable to secure locking ring to the V-Pro module as there was not enough thread protruding.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Adds dimming for LED bulbs as stated but with smallprint
Allowed me to replace the dimmer in my old switch so I could dim LED lamps. It works and has a high-tech looking slow light up (the light level rises at a rate to the set level -quite quickly). Sadly, that high-tech light up is spoilt by an initial flash of light. So, when switching lights on, there is a flash of light then the lights level rises from off up to the set level. The other problem, which probably affects all LED dimmers & dimmed LED lamps, is that there is a strobe effect. The strobe effect is worse the dimmer the light setting. Its not really noticable and doesn't annoy me, but it might annoy someone else. The dimming works by switching the lamps off and on at high frequency. You don't notice this frequency unless you move something quickly. E.g. if you wave your arms about rapidly you will not see a smooth movement but a strobed movement, like in a disco. Also, this strobing is noticeable when I use video calling on my laptop - you can see a slight strobing of the wall behind me in my image.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Also works with non-dimmable LEDs
Don't like the push on/push off switch. Totally silent. Controls perfectly 9 dimmable 1.95W G9 LEDs, no flicker, but 15% light loss at max. This light loss is reduced to 4% if 8LEDS + 21W G9 halogen. Controls perfectly 9 dimmable 1.95W G9 LEDs PLUS 12V transfo feeding 9 G4 2W non-dimmable COBs, no flicker, but again light loss at max. Again light loss is reduced if replace 3 G4 COBs by 3 15W G4 halogens. Very clever and very good value for money.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
