Perfect rotary vice made of durable plastic with steel jaws.
First impression was of cheap plasticky vice but after few tied flies I realized, that it is perfect. The jaws are wery good and fully adjustable to a hook of any size. They are smooth and the hook holds very firmly in them. The rotary motion Is also very smooth thanks to the two ball bearings. The jaws are heavy and the vice has no counterbalance but you can adjust the two nuts at the end of the vice and never touch it again. With correct adjustment it will hold good in any position but still could be easily rotated by handle. All in all, i think i made the right choice. It is very lightweight and that means easy transportation. You could dismantle it completely for transport or repair. You can adjust the height of the vice. You can switch the cam mechanism for right or left handed operation. It does not wobble by any means. It stands firm and solid.

I like it, THE DANVISE.
I’ve just decided to get back into trout fishing, I’m too long in the tooth to be mauling all the kit needed for course fishing. So I made the decision to put the course kit in the corner and go back to fly. I ordered in the full kit to restart, rod, reel, line, some flies. But I came to the conclusion that I needed something else so decided to go back to tying my own flies as I used too. Then came lockdown, so I can’t use the trout gear, but it did give me lots of time to research a good fly tying vice. Well I jumped and purchased this vice and I’m well pleased with it. It’s easy to use and I’ve started to tie again okay the fingers ain’t as nimble as they used to be but exercise will help. The purchase was trouble free, the delivery was very quick, I knew some of the construction of the vice was not metal prior to purchase this didn’t worry me at all and using the vice has proved it is durable (I have done some construction of my own with reinforced epoxy so know just good modern stuff like this is) it’s got ball bearings were they need to be and the jaws are made from tempered steel that work on a cam and are very reliable, I have no problems with recommending this vice and just can’t wait to get out in the open air again.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Cheap and cheerful
Predominantly plastic. Feels cheap, however, does the job well! I'm new to fly tying and wanted to get a rotary vice but didn't have the money to spend on a top brand. Ultimately I am very pleased with the vice. It works and does exactly what you want. 4stars because of two points. It's mostly plastic and lacks the quality feel of something more luxurious. Secondly, there is not much room around the Jaws so can be a little tight at times when doing delicate things. I find working inverted tricky because of this. Outstanding value!
Great vise that's easy to set up and use. Mine came with both the clamp and base. Holds a wide variety of hook sizes very securely. Adjustments are made easily and rotary function is smooth and very handy. Vise body is a little large but I haven't noticed that it gets in the way at all.
