The Faber Castell Polychromos set is an ideal amount to do most basic subjects, the colours are excellent , bright, clear and the covering power on the paper is very good. I would recommend any student or beginner to try these out on a project and then move on to a larger set of 36 or 72 colours. These colour pencils are beautiful, very easy to lay down colour. The colours are vibrant and easy to blend, being soft does mean that they go blunt quite quickly though. They are very pigmented a bit hard to get a solid colour you need a lot of pressure .blending is a bit hard they dont just blend you need a lot if extra stepa to blend but once you use them more they become a lot easier to blend and worth it I like them a lot the white was also more pigmented than I thought and helps them blend also will use these in future pieces
