    Toshiba

The DVD/VCR shows good picture and it records well. It has a HDMI connection and an up converter. the only thing missing was the remote but my old dvd had one that works on this machine.

Piece of junk-known problem of not playing DVD's

Tried two of these, neither worked correctly. One the putting in a vcr tape caused machine to shut off and also eat the tape hen you tried to eject it. The other one, when I put in a store bought dvd, a message showed up that said this dvd may not be suitable for playback. What? It's a factory recorded dvd! Tried to record on dvd +r, -r, and +rw. If it even loaded, which was about 10% of the attempts, it would not record on any of them. Also any previously recorded dvd's I made from tv programs would not play. Again would Bly load about 10% of the time. This I found out is a known defect with this model and at least with one other model. JUNK, JUNK, JUNK, STAY AWAY from this one!

  • Good buy, but at $137 not cheap for used recorder without remote.

This is a used DVD/VCR Recorder with Tuner, remote not included. It is identical to my previous recorder, which developed a habit of ejecting the tape after 15 seconds of either recording or play, so I already had the remote. The tuner on the new one is not as powerful as my old Toshiba DVR670 and receives fewer PBS channels than my other Magnavox recorder, but so far it is working perfectly. I got what I paid for, and what I expected, but was surprised to see that it had shipped from India.

  • Nice product, but . . . . .

The DVR670 is a good product. The only complaint I have about it is the user is unable to assign titles to timed recordings until AFTER they're recorded. As a result, if you have say a dozen programs timed to record each week, you don't know which program is which by looking at the Title Menu and there's not much sense in labeling the program after it's recorded - unless you wish to watch it at a much later date. The only other issue is that deleting a recorded program on DVD is rather slow.

  • good product with good reception

Good product. Good reception for over air digital transmissions. Works well in all dvd recording modes. Must have proper remote to set up and use unit

  • Good sound, viewing and ease of use.

Though an older model, it replaced a DVD player that died, and has a good viewing quality, perhaps helped by the fact that it's used as a playback for a disk recorded by a DVR of the same brand and model

  • Great for VCR to DVD Recording

Even though it is 10+ years old, this is the best unit for copying VCR tapes to DVD. Although it requires several steps to do it, the results are excellent. I had a problem with the 1st unit, but Tim immediately offered to replace it. The 2nd unit works great.

  • The Best

Love everything about this, the tuner the DVD player and recorder and the VHS player and recorder. I have converted all my VHS tapes to DVD. I have been buying this model for many years. When it wears out I buy a new one. Now that they don't manufacture them anymore I'm buy used ones. Always two, one as a backup. I'll never understand why they stopped making them.
