Do not settle for hum-drum home entertainment when the Denon AVR-4520CI 9.2-channel 150-watt receiver offers a complete package in a home theater system. This receiver features technology that increases all video signals to 3,840 by 2,160 pixels, meaning viewers get to see four times the audio/video picture quality of the standard 1080 pixels. Seven HDMI outputs and three HDMI inputs allow users to connect HDMI-compatible accessories such as video game consoles and DVD players easily. A remote control gives users the power to adjust settings or change the input device without having to get up from the comfort of their seat.At the rear of the receiver is a complete connection array with several selections for individual configurations; these include six input connections and a selection of three output connections, including two ARC. There are speaker terminals for the 7-channel regular composition plus speaker terminals for either side arrays, a bi-amped front channel, or height speakers. There are 11.2-channel and 7.1-channel outputs, which means you can run a DTS Neo:X configuration if you add two channels of subwoofers and amp. There are connections for component and composite video and Ethernet, so the AVR-4520 can be used for a network hub. There is an RS232 serial control connector, a Denon Link HD, an FM aerial, remote control in and out slots, two 12v triggers, and a USB port for your iPod. There are also ports for headphones, and don't forget the Blu-ray player.The AVR-4520 uses nine identical channels rated at 190W each along with a dedicated and trustworthy power supply for your sound and picture playback. There is Dolby Pro Logic IIz processing, DTS Neo:X, and DSX. You'll also have access to an Auto Setup and a provided microphone. Audyssey MultEQ includes higher level filters for speakers and subwoofers, and there is support for the Pro.In addition, the AVR-4520 includes video processing with up scaling to both 1080p and 4K. These receivers provide 4K pass-through, 4K switching, and 4K GUI overlay, providing a possibility of future connected devices to upgrade your home system. The AVR connectivity also has the ability for additional expandability with HDMI 3D, Audio Return Channel, Deep Color, x.v.Color, Auto Lipsync, and HDMI -CEC functions, all for customizing the system to fit your home theater requirements. To install the complete grouping with all the components, you'll have access to the customizable Setup Assistant and Audyssey MultiEQ, but there are also specific Audio and Speakers help menus that assist with setup and other situations. The Audio menu display is visually enhanced and has the ability to change sound parameters, change the subwoofer level, change the tone, adjust the audio delay, adjust the volume in the main zone, pick and adjust the Audyssey MultiEQ XT32 and Dynamic Volume settings, and utilize the graphic equalizer to perfectly tweak the sound quality of each speaker in use. Couldn't be happier with my purchase
I wanted this receiver because it had FM HD Radio, Internet streaming, network setup, an Android app, multi-zone, and plenty of power. The model is a few years old, so it does not have Bluetooth connectivity. However, the Audyssey System optimizes your receiver to your speakers and makes it sound the best it can be. Denon great product. All around great technical design. I am critical of the physical construction. The HDMI ports are not very secure and the connectors can easily fall out without too much effort. The Audessey microphone system set up was completely unacceptable. It misread the size of my speakers and really misbalanced the set up.
