The serrated blades look more like hacksaw blades. Cutting meat, raw and cooked tend to snag and tear so no clean cuts. I thought $19 would be a good deal but half that would be better fitting. The KNIVEs look very good in my kitchen. They are sharp both looks and the real meaning of Knives....They are Sharp but not to cut yourself. I notice that they don't really cut the Thanksgiving Turkey or the Prime rib roast that we had, not that Sharp to cut them in a million pieces, just the right small pieces for your mouth. And a little help from your fingers to hold it right so the cutting is just fine. I am real happy to have the set, maybe if it included a Shear-scissor just like my old set. I am glad I bought it . The knife have a protective cover over the end that you can take off when you are using them, and replace them after cleaning. I have never had a set this nice.
