Great idea, but can require some patience to get cat used to it
Our cat was initially scared of this cat flap as it is rather noisy, he also struggled with the idea of going through it head first (he used to open his old cat flap with his paw! ) he has now mastered it though, and apart from it jamming a couple of times, it's been great.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good quality, good value, but not rainproof
Good quality, good value, but not rainproof. Easier installation than regular manual cat flaps, but the design means the door is on the inside, not the outside, so unfortunately the weather and rain can come in easier. magnetic latch rules ok!
We have had "visitors" coming in our normal catflap, eating our cats' food and occasionally weeing to "mark" the place as theirs! Got fed up with that, and chose this gadget - super fast delivery within 24 hours - chose same shape as existing "normal" catflap, so installation was about 60 seconds! next job was to attach magnet to collar - great fun - they know something is going on, and first catch them, remove collar, attach magnet, and then the tough bit getting the collars back on! Dempsey (British short hair (black tip) is a big boy but not too bright.... he used to push the catflap open with his paws.... had to learn to use his head to get the magnet near the latch mechanism .... managed after a couple of minutes. Della (DSH moggy) also managed after prolonged suspicious sniffing at this new thing so... let's hope there are no more furry invaders!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

This was purchased for an elderly neighbour who was finding it hard to get up and down to let her cat in. The fitting of the cat flap was easy and straightforward. It seems pretty sturdy as well. Well made if suitable for your cat
I had to glue the magnetic bead to the bottom of the unit, negating the point of it but that's because my cat refused to wear a collar that I could attach it too! If your cat's happy with wearing a collar then this will be fine but if not look at a chip reading device if you must control who's in and out! Magnets too strong
We bought this to replace our 6 yr old flap when we got a new back door. The previous flap was the same make, with magnets which the cats used no problem however the magnets on the edge of the new flap that keep it closed seem to be so strong that the cats can't push through it. Took my girls a while to get used to it. It did scare them at first with the loud clacking sound of the magnet hitting the door but they are fine now and it keeps the un neutered males from getting in our house and spraying everywhere. Would recommend it, it's a great sturdy door and magnets are very strong.
