Fascinating
This is a fascinating film about a couple in later life about to celebrate their 45th anniversary. It starts off with the husband reading a letter he got about an old lover of his who had died in Switzerland up a mountain when she fell through a crack when they were up their together 50 years ago. Apparently the body had been found perfectly preserved in ice after all these years. This caused tension between the husband and wife because he wanted to go to Switzerland to see the body and I think the fact that their anniversary was coming up made things all the more sensitive for the wife as it felt disloyal. To cut a long story short I think by the end of the film the wife realised she was second best and it was hard to take after 45 years that your husband had kept the fact that this woman was pregnant with his child and they were to be married especially as they had had no children of their own. It was a very slow moving but complex film with a lot going on. Had he shared his feelings and the truth with his wife I think it could have been born better by her. Oh dear!
