I have used this product for years , last upgraded in 2016 and have been able to restore a back up without a problem when needed.
I bought this NEW rather than UPGRADE version because Acronis has changed from perpetual license to subscription. 2021 is last perpetual license version. I think this makes sense for businesses but not for home office use maintaining only a couple of computers.
Although I uninstalled my 2016 version, there were remnants of it in the registry that fought the NEW 2021 version.
I had to uninstall 2021 version, manually clean the registry and then reinstall the 2021 version,
I am now very happy with this version. It is more robust behind the scenes and the interface is more transparent in showing the backups done.
I have used many versions through the years and it maybe my computer or something but I have had nothing but troble with this version. Not the buy cause it was fine, but the strange outcome I have been having with this. Acronis is writing me everyday from customer service and the jury is out to see if they solve my issue.
The purchase gives you the serial number and you download the version directly from Acronis. There is no disk, but why do you need it? Program registed without an issue and the download was easy.
