Works Great. Easy to use
Bait it. Drop it in tank overnight. Full of snails in the morning. Take it out. Tip it upside down, and shake them out. No need to take apart. I tied a piece of string to each end. To make it easy to lower into tank, and take out. Some reviews say it doesn't work. I can only assume they didn't, put bait in. Alge tabs work well.

Works well with the right bait - inserted in the right way!
At first I was not that impressed with this - using the supplied bait it caught about six snails, with many more to be seen on the glass and plants. I then tried cucumber - even worse - only two snails. BUT then I tried algae wafers... and bingo! 20 snails in one night. So this trap is as good as the bait - but that would be true of any trap. Fact is that if the bait is good they go in and can't get out. Result. Tip - hanging the bait from the red plug is better than just dumping it on the floor. The ultimate snail catcher
This product is amazing. Does exactly what it says on the packet. I was getting desperate the amount of snails I had in my tank I estimated possibly 2 to 300 juveniles. Oh boy was I wrong on the first night of using the snail catcher I counted 261 snails both in the trap and on it. Very simple to build as another user had recommended are used tetra pack and tabs as bait and it works perfectly. Can’t wait to see how many more of the little critters I catch tonight. At last one that works !!
tried several other unsuccessful methods to rid my tank of pest snails but this one actually works, Hooray! Suggest you carry on using the Sera tabs as I have found them more effective than other baits. keys to success: 1, Follow simple instructions explicitly, 2, Place in tank during total darkness. 3, Have patience and accept that you will probably wont ever get rid of them all. I have been catching about 30 to 40 every night, from the first night for the last 4 nights running with always a few of the pesky things left on the glass in the morning. Sail traps r us
While this trap will catch a few it will also catch small fish. Only two pellets of bait supplied with the trap. I have two home made traps that are much more effective at catching snails.
