Quite a beast of a little vacuum cleaner
After it arrived I unpackaged the vacuum cleaner and gave it a whirl. It was packaged well, easy to assemble, and runs like a champ. The suction on the unit is fairly impressive and it thankfully works extremely well on low pile tight-nit carpet (which had been my one hesitation when ordering this). It does work better on true hard tiles and flooring, but it's still most acceptable otherwise. Noise wise it's very tolerable, was certainly more quiet than the Dyson hair monster that this is replacing. The primary purpose I got this for was pet hair, having both a cat and two great Pyrenees mix dogs that shed fairly heavily. The "hair monster" Dyson we had was a constant battle to cut the hair out from the roller and after years of use was starting to burn out from the strain. This little unit does an amazing job pulling up long, medium, and short hairs (and a surprising amount more dust and dirt than I had seen in a long while) from the low pile carpet. The canister isn't very big and needs to be emptied frequently, but for the price and quality I can't knock it there. About the only things preventing me from giving it a five star rating are the cord length and the upper tank separator grill. The cord is a good 10-15 feet shorter than my previous vacuums which means I have a bit of a plug-n-play game when it comes to vacuuming my area, and with my first attempt I ended up finding out just how short it was when the plug came out from the wall several times. It's something I'll adjust to in time, but I do wish that it had that little bit extra length. The upper tank separator grill, while easy to untwist and remove and clear out any wrapped/trapped/ect dirt and hair and whatnot, is still a little bit tedious compared to other bag-less vacuums I have used. It also tends to make a bit of a mess dumping out the trapped contents on the ground when you have to do it, granted you just re-vacuum that spot and your all set again. It does take some getting used to using it around wall edges, but so far I can't say I'm disappointed in the least with this little vacuum. Heavier than expected.
The first thing that happened was the bottom was hard to keep attached, it kept falling off. I finally took it to my husband that had to work and work to finally keep it attached. Then vacuuming it is hard to maneuver, it's heavy and doesn't want to move in the right direction. Good for Tile floors
Have only used this a couple times but it is efficient in vacuuming up dust, debris and pet hair from tile floors The vacuum is light and mives easily across the floor and around furniture as it kind of pivots. It is a little awkward for edge cleaning but seems to do the job. The dirt bucket is very easy to remove and emoty. The downside of the vacuum is that the cord is not as long as I had on previous vacuums and it dors not move easily on carpeting. I am also concerned for durability as the entire unit is plastic. Light weight but powerful machine

My Life Just Got Easier
We have a huge expanse of tile floors in our home PLUS an 80 pound Golden Retriever. In my search for a lightweight vacuum just for tile floors, almost all were made for wood floors. I came upon this Bissell product in my online search. I remembered the Bissell carpet sweeper from when I was a little girl in the 1950's and liked that it was a long standing company with a good reputation. Well, the first time trying it out I was amazed. This is a solid little machine that gets the job done. With Christmas decorating and the odd things that fell on the floor, it sucked them all up--even random little flecks of glitter--the true test! I read other customer reviews and found that this Bissell was well liked; however, the one complaint was the very short cord. That's an easy fix: I just attached a very long orange heavy duty extension cord. I also attach it to my Shark steam cleaner for the same reason. I had called that company to make sure if it was safe to use the orange extension cord. They said yes, it's perfectly safe, so I have no qualms about using it for the Bissell. At first glance, the odd shape in the front looks like it would be inefficient picking up along baseboards, even under the lower cupboards. It gets everything picked up in a flash. Of course, it will not go under low furniture, such as an armoire or hallway chests. Naturally, I have to take my vacuum attachment under those places. I give this Bissell Power Edge 5 Stars. Lot of pick up in a little package!

Great vacuum for a great price
We have three of these, one our house, one at our condo, and one as a spare. We have used this model for over 8 years and have loved how it picks up dog hairs and debris from the floor. Number 3 works for me
This is our third bare floor cleaner from Bissell. The first 2 were the original (green) design and the handles were not the best design as both broke between 4-5 years of use. The new design has a redesigned handle with the great suction and ease of use which made us buy (and buy again) the original design. No other model has came close!
