Kroil and useage expectations
I have been working on rusty mechanical things all my life. Especially in road salt areas. This Kroil is about the best penetrating oil that I have found. It is expensive, but I don't care. I bought it for a reason, it works the best. Now, it is not a miracle product. Don't expect any tight rusted joint to magically come loose with Kroil. You need heat to break the bond of rust from differential expansion. Where Kroil shines, is once you have a tiny bit of movement in the joint, either by hammering or from heating, then the Kroil allows the rust to flow away when you work the joint. It has a very thin viscosity that really wets the inner cavities of the rust. That is the key to how it works so well. It penetrates and lubricates. (No, it is not an oil). But a good product when used in the proper way.
