Give it a go
Puchased this in the hope of keeping feral pigeons from taking all the food before the small birds can get a look in. It is excellent quality. After 10days the only small birds that have been in the feeder are coal tits, although starling love it and can put their heads through the portholes to get the food which, as I am keen to encourge the starlings, is fine by me. It may well be that the other small birds are used to feeding from the two tubular hanging feeders and just automatically go to them. I think hat if you were buying this as a first feeder for a garden it would take small birds quite a while to be tempted to use it, but it is well worth giving it a go. Looks easy to clean and is easy to fill. On the whole I am very pleased with it and might try taking away the other two feeders to see if that encourages the use of this feeder.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

no birds yet!!!
had this a few weeks and have not had any birds on it. we usually we have lots of birds feeding but they are not interested in this product. Its a shame because i wanted something for the smaller birds. i was wondering if the light reflects too much on it, im am going to try moving to a more sheltered spot. Pretty bird feeder
Initially quite excited to receive this feeder in the post. Easy to fill, keeps seeds etc clean and dry. My pet robin, that feeds from a tray at ground level, tried it once but could not get in and refuses to try it again. Other birds also reluctant to try it. Not sure why, could be its proximity to our house. Pigeons and crows cannot get in and that suits me. Will try an adaptation to make it easier for little birds by weaving a straw perch though the holes so they they can get some purchase on the plastic surface before entering the holes. Good all round seed feeder
Easy to fill feeder and easy to place on a branch. Only one negative, the holes are big enough for a squirrels head !!! Design appeals to Humans but not Birds
Easy clean . Sleek design . Looks good . However birds do not appear to appreciate these aspects . Peckish small bird feeder.
Not a bad item looks quite well made and looks good and the idea is good for keeping large birds off the seed but if only the little birds would go in it to feed would be great but had bird feeder a week and not a single bird has been inside the feeder I am hoping when the weather gets really cold they might visit the feeder I live in hope.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not just for small birds.
Although I like this feeder and the quality is good, I had hoped that just the little birds (tits and finches) would use it. However, the starlings have managed to work out how to get their heads in and eat all the mealworms/seeds. Expensive mistake
I thought this would keep bird food dry, but it doesn't.. the smaller birds in our garden w not use it. Sadly the seed gets very wet and this clogs the outlets, so the seed doesn't flow through. If hung under cover I think it would be OK. But for hanging on bird feeder without shelter it is useless. Sadly an expensive mistake. Wouldn't recommend.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
