  • Excellent studio pro quality microphone

Was recommended to me by a pro voice-over actor. Audio is superb. Due to pattern, it limits pickup of room noises etc. Am using it in my podcast studio. 100% satisfied. Note it is a sturdy mic and does weigh a bit so need a good quality stand or boom to support it.

  • Amazing radio FM style sound

One of the best microphones ever, the sound quality is excelent but it needs a bit of more gain as a regular mic, if you use a Focusrite interface it must be at 100% but if you use something like the Vocaser one or two you have plenty of gain

  • Delivers like a champion. Fantastic mic.

There's a reason the RE20 is found in every recording studio and radio-station around. This is the absolute best mic for quick voice-over work. I use it with a Grace M101 pre-amp and my voice sounds incredible. Clean and pure. I should have bought one years ago.It puts my more expensive mics to shame. Just wow!

  • Hands down best Dynamic microphone under $500

I've been building RE20 microphones since 2006 and am the former wired mic tech for EV. Lincoln Microphone LLC rebuilds failed RE20 elements and also has foam for those who prefer DIY.

  • Electro Voice RE20

I bought this mic for recording my alto sax at home and I really like its warm sound easily compared to really expensive condenser mics. Its frequency response is rather flat and wide for the dynamic and the result I get needs minimum EQing and sits in the mix perfectly. Really worth the money.

  • Super duper smooth.

On it for a second it was instantly the best microphone I've ever heard my voice through I've been playing and singing since I was a child 30 years later I own one of these I'm glad to have it as one of the centerpiece microphones at my studio for vocals, acoustic to guitar and some drums. Not to mention that it is one of the two industry standard microphones that people use in the pro studios around the world. The other being the SM 7B. I think it's probably a good idea to own one of each of them but I'm not sure yet :-) Super happy with this microphone, if you search Radiohead from the basement you'll see Thom York this microphone and it sounds completely studio quality just like the album, the amazing thing he's right up on it with no pop filter and you don't hear any of the proximity effect.

  • Great dynamic microphone

The RE20 has been a studio standard for decades. These things sound great, they’re durable, and they’re affordable when you can find a deal. One issue is they have very low output levels. You will need a professional quality preamp or use a gain booster like the Cloudlifter or FetHead.

  • Great mic for bassy voices

This is a solid microphone. If you're recording and running your mic through processing, you really don't need to spend a ton to get a good mic. I'd recommend spending on your interface vs. your mic. I have this mic running into a UAD Apollo Twin and it sounds great. I have another $100 Blue mic running into it and it sounds great too. Is there a HUGE difference between the too? Not really. The Blue mic actually sounds pretty good, hotter and more high end. The difference is this mic "sits in the mix" so to speak. I don't know why exactly, but I don't have to spend time fussing with it as much as the other mic, which means more time working on other things. I have a low voice and very much appreciate this mics bass rolloff, low proximity effect and built-in pop filter. All around great buy.

  • That's legend. Nothing else to say.

Very good build, good quality microphone. If you can afford it - buy it. Don't forget to get FetHead or Cloudlifter, its recommended for such microphones, so you can avoid noise from pre-amp Excellent microphone, very good noise rejection. I'm very happy to have one, after i tried cheaper variants

  • I love this microphone

This microphone has really changed my life. I live on a busy street and this microphone cancels out the road noise which is a godsend for me. It records a really great sound and it was well worth the investment. It takes me half the time it used to take to record audiobooks. The sound is clear and crisp.
