Completely useless. Was broken when recieved
Cannot provide a review on the function, as it was broken when I received it. Two of the probes weren't even connected to the unit. Since it was already broken, I took the cover off to see what had cause the breakage, and or attempt repair. It was apparent that whoever assembled it, had broken the plastic probe retainer piece by over tightening the screws. It is cracked and stripped out.. Not fixable. Purchased both a digital model and this analog soil tester. Will return the digital one, for many reasons. This soil tester works without batteries, is easy to read the scale, and includes an extensive list of many flowers, trees, and grasses that help determine what you need to do to correct any soil inconsistencies with what you are growing. Garbage
I would not recommend this to anyone. Does not come close to being as accurate as the chemical tests. After I soak the plants I placed the sensor in and initialy it indicated heavy soil moisture, however within a fewe seconds the meter reads that the ground is dry. PH only reads above 7.
