Better looking and functional heat detector vs my old 28 yr old one
I purchased 2 of these Heat Detectors for my garage, to match the other First Alert BRK smoke detectors in the interior of our home. I originally bought Kidde heat detectors but they didn't match. Electrical code now states all the heat and smoke detectors must be interconnected here in MA. I don't know if it's a good product, but the electricians replaced the 28 yr old ones the builder installed in the ceiling garage with these I bought. So I just gave 4*. I like that there's a battery back up, and a test/ silence button, the third Orange wire is for interconnecting. My old ones had none of those: battery back up or test/silence button, so thank goodness they never went off! This can be pricey, and I'm glad I found new ones on eBay for less. 1 pic is the old heat detector, other pic is the BRK First Alert heat detector installed.
