  • Excellent recorder with lots of features

Had a previous model (the DMR-BW880) which had recently started to play up (no longer playing or recording on to blu-ray discs, although would still handle pre-recorded and blank DVDs fine). Unfortunately, the latest model that Panasonic sells was actually first released in 2015 and does not have legacy SCART sockets for recording from older external devices such as VHS players (I had been transferring a number of old tapes over the years). So for me it was a case of seeing what other models that Panasonic had released between 2010 and 2015 that might still be available somewhere and it seems that this model was regarded as the best in its time. So I was really pleased when I was able to get hold of an ex-stock, refurbished model in its original box (which had only been opened to check it was still operational, but otherwise was in an 'as-new' condition and had clearly never been used). I chose this particular model not only for the SCART inputs but also the larger (1TB) HDD against the DMR-BW880's 500GB HDD. Overall, very well pleased with my purchase.

  • Panasonic DMR-BWT720 is a full featured machine that does everything

One of the last machines built by Panasonic that does everything. Good for todays technology and can be used with legacy equipment that uses SCART. The only negative is that you can't record straight to DVD or Bluray disc from an external source. You have to record to HDD first then burn to disc. but to be honest it is not really a problem. This machine predates 4K but standard HD 1080P is crisp and if you have a modern 4k LED TV the TV will upscale to 4K

  • The best there is with the technology as it stands

In a nutshell, buy it, it's brilliant. Although you will probably need the training of a space shuttle pilot to work your way through the hundreds of features this recorder has! If you have, then you won't be disappointed, it's a geek fest of multiple combinations of features. If you like scrolling up and down menus, you'll LOVE it - just DON'T lose the remote, because without it, this recorder is dead in the water - you have been warned...

  • Fantastic Machine

I knew this DVD Recorder was going to be good having owned the same model for 6 years previously. The Panasonic DMR- BWT720 is the best machine to possibly have. I burned thousands of DVDs on the previous one I owned and this latest one is just as reliable and easy to use. It was in perfect condition with user manual, remote control and various leads and cables. I had previously owned a Philips and a Lite On, both of which were rubbish compared to the Panasonic. I would recommend it to anyone who is serious about recording and burning DVDs. The editing on this machine is second to none, and it has a 1 TB Hard Drive. Plenty of storage space.

  • A good Panasonic.

I purchased my original Panasonic DMR-BWT720 back in 2012. The hard disc was replaced early in 2020 because of corruption. The same company, based in Swansea tried to fix a problem with the dvd tray but could get the parts as they are no longer manufactured. I was lucky enough to purchase the same model from SAVEONTECHS. It is slightly different from the original but at least it is free from the nonsensical copyright obstacles. The Panasonic arrived on the date specified, well packaged with no breakages. The machine required a few hours to aclimatise at room temperature before being used. So far after almost one months use it seems to be working alright.

  • Panasonic DMR-BWT720 Blu-Ray and DVD Recorder

I bought this product because I needed the connection ports provided (not offered on later models). I am pleased with its condition (for a used item) and it performs well.
