The Yaesu FT-757GX Radio Transceiver delivers clear and soothing audio. Accommodating amateur bands in CW, FM, SSB, and AM modes, this device offers both diversity and audio freedom. The reception coverage is up to 10 meters, and you can save up to 10 channels with the FT-757GX transceiver, giving you instant access to all of your favorite stations with just a touch of a button. The coverage receiver tunes from 500 kHz to 30 MHz, and you will enjoy minimized reception restrictions, with the ability to achieve a superior dynamic tuning range. The Yaesu FT-757GX Radio Transceiver has a wide range of features and functions that suit amateurs and novice radio operators alike. A CAT (computer-aided transceiver) system is built into the FT-757GX by Yaesu. This system uses an external microcomputer for the control of the memory and operating frequency functions needed for the transceiver to work. The EXT CNTL (external control) jack that allows for the signals to pass to the transceiver is located on the rear of the device. Yaesu offers many different interface units that have the ability to make the necessary data format conversions, allowing for the connection to the common brands of microcomputers available. The available EXT CNTL jack featured also provides access to the AGC line for the Yaesu FT-757GX receiver. As an IF Shift/Width passband control system, this Yaesu transceiver delivers a wide variety of selective settings meant to minimize interference when SSB, CW, and ECSS waves are being received during AM signal transmissions. To optimize sensitivity and dynamic range capabilities and ensure that the device works in all types of conditions, a switchable RF amplifier and 20 dB attenuator are built into the FT-757GX. For convenience, you are able to adjust the noise blanker AGC directly from the front panel of the transceiver, between narrow to wide blanking pulse widths. Enjoy intermediate frequencies that range from 47.06MHz to the 455kHz of the FM stations. The unique design of the FT-757GX rig features a diecast top that has a Duct Flow Cooling system built in. This system allows for air to be forced through the entire transceiver to keep the device from overheating. With this high thermodynamic efficiency rating, this is one of the smallest transceivers available. However, with the features and technologies built into the rig, it is capable of handling the full 100 W output of power for RTTY and FM transmission. It is important to know that an appropriate heavy duty power supply is still necessary for reaching maximum output capabilities. Yaesu has designed the FC-757AT automatic antenna tuner to pair perfectly with the FT-757GX rig. With its own built-in microprocessor and lithium-backed memory, you can tune into minimum SWR, at the main transmission frequency, with a simple touch of a button. Once you are tuned in, store your settings in the memory bank for easy recall abilities later. For your maximum enjoyment, the Yaesu FT-757GX radio transceiver accepts multiple antennas, up to five in total, when used with the FAS-1-4R Remote Antenna Selector. A built-in handheld microphone and speaker give you clarity for audio that is transmitted to and from your Yaesu FT-757GX radio transceiver. CAT Cable for Yaesu FT-757GX2, FT-840, FT-890, FT-900
Yaesu only used this CAT configuration for a few models that are all out of production, so a CAT cable for these radios is hard to find today. This cable is plug-and-play if you have any of the ham radio programs that include CAT support of the correct model radio. I have used this cable with FLDIGI, Ham Radio Deluxe, and several other programs. Setting up CAT control for any of these older Yaesu radios may require knowing the proper configuration settings (found in the Yaesu manual), but once the software is set properly the cable works great. This is the DB-9 to Mini-DIN cable, intended to connect the radio to a computer RS-232 serial port (DB-9). Most newer computer omit the legacy RS-232 port and provide only USB ports for serial connections. On a computer with only USB ports, this cable works fine when combined with a USB-to-Serial adapter so long as you have the proper drivers for your USB-to-Serial adapter (driver issues with these adapters are common, but that is the fault of fake Prolific chips used in most of the cheap adapters). The cable also works great with the West Mountain Radio RIGblaster Advantage which includes a built-in USB to RS-232 adapter. Yaesu FC-707 Tuner
I have only been using it for a short while. That said, I love it. It is the best manual tuner I have ever used! It is easy to use and tunes up very fast especially with its internal 150 watt dummy load. You can't go wrong and it complements the Yaesu FT-707 Transceiver perfectly! I have only one complaint and that is that it doesn't tune 160 meters but then the FT-707 doesn,t have that capability.
