Good looking base station loaded with features
Designed to look like a serious radio, has good receive audio and easy-to-use controls. The RCI-2995Dx is all mode AM-CW-FM-SSB modes. Has variable power, noise blanker and does around 140 watts pep depending on who adjust the output power internally. I recommend no more than 40 watts am carrier and 125 ssb so you will never have to repair the final stage. Want more power buy a big linear amplifier. Internally is a rci 2950dx board with a power supply, and linear amplifier inside a big box. Receiver has good sensitivity but a little hiss from the microprocessor (not a deal breaker), Transmitter is clean and sounds very good on AM and SSB. Frequency stability is better than most 10 meter/CB radios, but do not expect the stability of a HAM radio with a TCXO (Temperature Compensated Oscillator) It changes frequency a little with the temperature changes inside the box. (Typically not more than 150 hertz). It is right now one of the best base stations you could buy, specially used. The price they want for it new is quite high. Great Radio!!!
This radio is awesome!! It has great receive and excellent clean loud audio. Works good on AM and SSB. First day I had it I talked 1000 miles away with good reports. It has many upgrades and improvements over the previous versions, like lighter more powerful power supply and improved receive. And the cooling fans keep it cool for all day operation.
