The Beyerdynamic DT 990 gives you a unique audio experience. These open headphones feature a pleasant sound and brilliant bass. You get three-dimensional sound; that is, it reproduces all of the details of the various instruments of an orchestra as a unity. A soft padded headband that provides little pressure ensures a highly comfortable fit, even when worn for hours, and the rugged construction ensures it is durable. In addition, both the headband and ear pads are replaceable. An advantage to this model is the extendable single-sided coiled cable. DT 990 Pros are awesome
Headphones are entirely subjective; there is not just the audio factor, but comfort, style, portability, practicality...all those criteria (and more) that make up the reasoning for embracing or spurning this kind of equipment. From my perspective, I value audio reproduction where the delivery is warm, weighty and not harsh, while at the same time detailed and spacious, and these headphones deliver on those counts. Style is not a consideration for me, as I will never wear them outside the house, nor will I care who sees me wearing them in the house! Build quality is excellent; no fears of pulling them too hard, no need to baby them between listens...they are well designed and (comparatively) hard-wearing. Price is really secondary; but these from one seller and you could pay over $400. Buy from another and you could score a great deal for just over the $100 mark. I use these with the Sony UDA-1 DAC; high-res audio files in digital format. I don't listen to vinyl and my time spent with CDs (possibly as a result of this audio pairing) is waning considerably. As with any product, you must research within your criteria and audition various products from various manufacturers. This products works amazingly well for me in terms of the above. Incredible, well balanced sound
This is the first pair of real I have purchased. Have looked at several over the years but the price tag of $200 Plus has kept me from it. My son has a pair of these so I was able to test them before purchase. These headphones provide a very well balanced sound. The bass is not overbearing, the treble not tinny, and the mid-range is clear and strong. This makes this an excellent headphone for people who like to listen to a wide variety of music. AMAZING! Best headphones I've ever worn for PERFECT sound reproduction!
I have owned many headphones ranging from simple earbuds to high end studio headphones, but nothing compares to the sound reproduction of the DT990s. Lows and highs are crystal clear and the soundstage is incredible! These are my go to headphones when I want to experience blissful surround sound coming in its clearest form. If you're looking for noise cancellation, these are not for you because they are open back by design and allow sound to move freely). If you want booming bass that rattles your head, these are not for you because they are designed for level sound reproduction (no overemphasis on the bass or treble). If you want to hear every note as it was recorded in the studio, these are the headphones for you. They deliver crisp treble and punchy bass with a slightly weak mid-range. Excellent with no major flaws
It just barely gets big enough for my head. The sound quality makes up for it though. Everything sounds much more lively than my Sennheiser 6XX's. The sound-stage is great. The highs can be a bit harsh sometimes tho, so maybe have another headphone around for very long listening sessions so you don't get fatigued. Great headset but requires a bit of juice due to 250ohms!
Pros: Light and comfy headphones, great sound quality, compatible with nearly anything and comes with an adapter to plug into an amplifier or whatever you need. Cons: Requires 250ohms of impedance and its hard to calculate if your sound card or device has enough power or whatever to make the headset loud enough, so usually requires an external DAC and or Amplifier to make it listenable. Works in both my laptop and PC perfectly though and my PC is using no sound card and its an old motherboard. Sharp highs inthe headset are a turn off but can easily be fixed in an EQ i use the one in windows sound control panel and select enhancements of the headset and select EQ and tuned it up perfectly.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

It grows on you
despite reading so many reviews of how comfortable it is, my first time wearing it didn't feel as amazing as I was expecting. however, very quickly from the 2nd time onwards, it just starts to feel super comfortable. it might have been the way I wore it initially. Sound Quality
I love the audio on these headphones. By far my favorite song to play on these is redbone by Childish Gambino. These headphones are great for gaming, instantly I could tell the directions of noises in Rainbow Six Siege. I can easily measure the distances of footsteps in games and I sometimes feel like noises are happening in my room that are from Songs. Great sound and amazingly comfortable
These headphones are great! To start with the obvious these are very comfortable to where for hours at a time. And the sound is as good as the comfort. The way the sound is so clear from right to left just amazes me. I can hear the spacing between all the different instruments and the singers. Simply the best sound for the money!
The only way I can describe the DT990's is sound in High Definition. I also own a pair of Massdrop Sennheiser HD6XX (650) which will now sit on their stand for quite some time. The 650's seem more laid back with their focus on midrange. The DT990's are crystal clear and leave you satisfied every time you put them on. The DT990's do not require any signal processing so if you have the high frequency turned up, they will be a little too bright so make sure you are at 0dB on your external devices. The low frequency is near perfect right now but after break in, they'll rock! Extremely comfortable to wear for long listening sessions too. I really can't say enough good things about the Beyerdynamic DT990's so if you're thinking of buying a pair, go for it, you won't be disappointed.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
