The PS3 Super Slim is supposed to be an upgrade from the last version of the PS3 but the only upgrade is the Hard drive. The picture quality is the same as the last version and so is game play but with this version the disc drive make a lot more noise plus the cheap plasic box looks and feels cheap compaired to the last version but the optical output is on par with the last version which is poor but most will not be playing music through the optical cable into a dac and will be using the HDMI for movies and games which is on par with the last version but the picture quality is ok but not good as a cheap Blu Ray player gives a much better picture. So the last version was better but hard to find a new one these days to play PS3 games as Sony decided not to allow PS3 game to be played on the PS4 which is just a way to make money as they want you to download old games to pay again for those games people bought and liked on the PS3 and really there was no reason for this as the PS4 could play PS3 games if they let it.....Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

PS3 Super Slim
The Super slim is the smallest and lightest of all the PS3 console versions. Since it is the last model to be developed and sold, you have a better chance of getting a system that is fully working and in good condition. The PS3 slim's slide cover for optical drive makes it less prone to mechanical failure too, than previous versions. It's also quicker and easier to insert and remove discs. With a huge library of games ever decreasing in price, this is probably the console of choice for the budget gamer today. Lightweight but very noisy
It is smaller than the original but much noisier and the disc player is a manual top load, and the plastic used for this is not the best quality. Having said that it plays ok. I would recommend updating to the PS4Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
