Loud in operation
This item does what it advertised it would, for me turning lights on and off at certain times . However I can't give it more than 3 stars due to the loud noise it makes when on. It is very loud compared to the ones I have used previously. A shame: I particularly wanted a mechanical device with small metal pegs as I have found they are more reliable as to times than the digital, and "section controlled" ones. II have used this style of timer before, .my previous ones have been long lasting in use. The only timer I have found that can be used to switch off only, therefore ensuiring that an electrical item is not over looked having been switched on manually.. Can't get the older style any more and these are pretty good
Have used the old "Smith's" pin type previously but not made or available these days. The one in use at the moment is keeping pretty good time but have found out these do need a short time of "Running In" as you might do a car engine otherwise they tend to flash slightly when switching on and off with LED bulbs.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Multi-tasking
I actually bought this for the pins: my mum had an old timer wired in to a heating pump that she had lost all the pins for.
