Ease of use
I love how easy it is to plan a route and find the mileage and time it will take. This is a big help when planning a vacation or just a short trip. I have been using streets and trips since about 2003. Print out the maps and route is so much easier than the newer google maps and other mapping software. I like to print the overall route, then print out close-ups of my exits, hotel locations, restaurant locations, etc. I make the trip so much easier with out getting lost or having to back track because you missed an exit.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Only one load
First I have to say Streets and Trips is the finest trip planning software in existance. Have thought so since i had version2. However, I loaded SaT 13 on my computer and it is great also. But I had a computer crash. After my computer was repaired I could load every other program from disk except Streets And Trips 13. Great program for a great price.
Had the older 2001 version, but wouldn't work on Windows 10. Decided to try the 2013 version even thought it said it wasn't designed for windows 10, I took a chance and it worked perfectly for me. Backup Software
Wanted this software as a backup to already purchased original from 2013. Reason is that I lost the Registration Code and if lost it on my travel computer, I could not re-install and then add my Registration Code. As my wife and I use this software on an old Win 7 laptop for all our travel, in addition to car GPS and phones, and we would not be without it. Users know it does so much more than a GPS or phone ever does, plus we can plan our trips in detail with notes far in advance. Great off line trip program
Always liked the Microsoft Streets & Trips program. I like the fact of it being a stand alone program that doesn't need an internet connection except for the initial key code to activate. I like the updated maps each year that Microsoft put out a new version. It's so easy to plan a trip ahead of time and easily make changes if needed during the trip. I've had friends with their GPS units on smart phones call and ask for me to give them directions when their units sent them to the wrong area. Streets & Trips opens fast and you can find areas or cities fast. My only wish would be that Microsoft would continue to make the Street & Trips program since this is the last one they produced. Great Deal for a good product. Many of the complaints listed are about the products inability to register with Microsoft. Not being able to register does not affect this product! If you follow the install document that comes with it, it will work just fine. The problem with registration is because Microsoft has discontinued support for the product, so things like traffic and construction updates, and registration don't work. This does not affect the product for what it is best at doing... Trip Planning! It's still the best product out there, and way better than google maps for trip planning and being able to set up your preferences, such as how long you want to drive for break times, or in a day, etc. Microsoft truly upset it's customer base with the decision to discontinue the product. I have the 2008, 2011 versions and got this one so I would have a more current database and map, even though it no longer gets the online construction and traffic data. Wish this was not the last "Streets and Trips"
Have had several versions over the years and Microsoft did right by it's faithful customers with 2013. Only sad that they thought we didn't any more versions. Just used it on a trip from Las Vegas to Tacoma, Washington and back. It made planning the drive so easy. Sure, we used Google Maps for the GPS, but only with both could we have planned every aspect of the trip. Microsoft is wrong to think we don't need this program any longer. I know our trip was uneventful because of the route planning with Streets and Trips 2013. Still the best computer based GPS.
It's just a shame Microsoft discontinued it. The only one left is DeLorme but it is archaic and primitive and the data base is way out of date even though it's labeled as 2015. It didn't even have a local interstate interchange that's been there for many years. I was glad to find this 2013 Microsoft version for my off road trip in Canyonlands National Park. It had all of the back roads and tracked our progress accurately. It was fully controllable by the touch screen on my laptop. I have even used it to navigate to an island on the local lake in the dark of night. I just got the co-ordinates off of Google Earth, entered them into Streets and Trips, and it took us right there. As I said at the start, there is nothing bad about this product except that it is discontinued by Microsoft after the 2013 version.
