It doesn't really work for me at this stage of recovering from a hip operation. It is comfortable to slide the foot into, but the metal is too tight for my feet and they seem to get trapped at the toe level. Maybe I just haven't worked out how to use it to the best advantage. I found it very difficult to pull the sock on, it tended to stick to the terry fabric and eventually what seemed like a whole body work out tugging and the socks came too high up my leg and crushed my toes..
