Brand new one of these, you should be able to overclock to 4.7ghz, I’ve only managed to overclock this to 4.1ghz but considering it’s like 8 years old, that’s fairly good, so I’m happy

Amazing CPU great value is great for extreme overclock.
Amazing processor for its age is really solid for reliability. I have managed to overclock to 4.7ghz with a liquid cpu cooler h80i. My fears calmed!
I very well know this is a top class processor and one of the top in it's class. My fear on receipt was that it has seen the light of day judging from it's state which wasn't too pleasant. But Banged it into the motherboard and powered on and hey presto worked straight out of the box and temperature below 30 degress. Initial temperature was actually 23 degrees but rose to 29/30 where it stayed for the duration of my time in ''BIOS'' Also note that CPU temperatures are normally higher, sometimes too high when in Bios so I would imagine the temperature of the CPU is between 23 and 26 degrees in operating system. Great CPU and Motherboard for Overclocking
I bought these bundle to make a pc for a friend and they work perfectly. I had delided the cpu and added liquid metal thermal paste underneath, then i changed the cooler with a water cooler and now i got a stable overclock of 4.6Ghz at 77 degrees C on full load. An overall improvement
Ivys quality has improved overall compare to its predecessor i7 2600K. Pros: 1. 77W power friendly vs Sandy Bridge 95W. 2. Great OC potential on default voltage. Reached OC Sandy Bridge frequency on default voltage. Cons: Temperature issue. Ivy is known for having a tendency to go hotter than Sandy Bridge, almost 5°C hotter on the same frequency. Often the temperature issue is overexagerated, if you have noctura air cooling system or a sophisticated liquid cooling tower, considering you don't have to boost the voltage to match the Sandy Bridge performance, Ivy Bridge is worth an UG.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
