Excellent, With Linux too.
Excellent product, I had been using an external Verbatim (Pioneer) usb 3.0 writer, unfortunately with a high coaster count, Installed this product onto my server and haven't had a coaster since, 20+ discs written faultlessly so far, write speeds on 6x bd discs averages around 8x (with xfburn), read speed of blu-ray up to 10.2x (but not always) and best of all it's region free. Brilliant 4K UHD Blu-ray Internal Drive
Does exactly what it is supposed to; reads Ultra-HD Blu-rays on my PC. Using MakeMKV I've been able to quickly and easily back up my new UHD bluray collection so I can keep track of what I've watched with Emby. With so many techy things these days requiring patches or updates or a nuclear science degree to get them to work it's refreshing to buy something that just worked straight out of the box. Also a nice touch that all the screws and cables etc. needed were included in the very well packaged box. Everything is in perfect order, the recorder works great. I do not use and have never used MakeMKV, so I cannot express my opinion on this subject, but I use DVD FAB and it works as it should. But the program itself has a built-in feature to lower the firmware called UHD Drive Tool. Also after installing the drive, the program detected a new device and again downgraded the firmware. Dependable, and well built.
Solid and reliable. Have yet to flash downgrade firmware for UHD discs as haven’t found the correct one yet. Reasonably quiet with standard blu ray and on par with the Asus model (it’s the same base mechanism, so should be). Did try a firmware downgrade to make it UHD friendly, but kept getting errors as if the latest firmware is encrypted like the newer Asus drives.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
