For open Ducati (in this case Monster 1000ie ) clutches these are a must. God knows what the previous owner did (dry miles only?) but very soon after some rainfall my springs turned rusty orange sending its manky dirt all over the right hand casing. The springs are the worst offenders but its not a bad idea to do the bolts too.
The new stainless springs measured perfectly against the old and pressing down seemed to have the same compression force ( I don't have a newton meter in my finger , no ). Maybe it's physiological but the clutch seemed to run smoother on the new springs too.
Now they've been running on the bike for about 500 mixed miles with no problems at all.
