Typical applications are wherever lighting, heating or ventilation could be left on wasting energy. Appliances such as electric panel heaters can use up to 45p per hour so be sure to never allow things to be left on unnecessarily which is bad for C02 emissions and bad for your electricity bills.

Not the best but works well

It does work well with many switch settings. One only knows the function is in operation by listening to the relay click noise which is feint. A light when power is fed, would be better and or physical movement on the main button. If your appliance has a light or is a light, this would not be an issue, all would be well. The casing plastic is low quality and one can hope the internal relays/board will work well in time to come. The price is low so you get what you pay for.

Rather Ho Hum about the boost switch

Bought three boost switches to replace the traditional on/off in a rental property One of them did not work - so needs to be swapped out - annoying as the cost of an electrician visit way exceeds saving any money on good value switches What to like - I chose them because they are simple. one button. simplicity is always good - very reasonable price What not to like - there is no light to say that boost has been engaged. Not that i could notice anyway. - so inexperienced users risk turning them on and then off with a double press - concerned about the quality - other brands have the word Boost, a light, and a series of times you can boost for by pressing multiple times You pay your money and you make your choice.

  • Works well once understood

Works great, simple to wire up.HOWEVER if like me you are a good DIYer but not a professional electrician you may find this tip useful. It is easy to set the time span you require for the switch to shut off by setting four tiny keys clearly described in the leaflet BUT to do a final precise time they ask you to adjust a thumbwheel.Luckily its position is shown in the instructions as it is a reostat that can't be turned with a thumb!!.You have to use s small screwdriver and turn clockwise or anti-clockwise to set the duration.AGAIN HOWEVER the "thumbwheel" is mounted vertically and can be turned from either side so clockwise or anti-clockwise changes depending on which way you face it!!! .Useful?. Once I'd figured it out it works very well.Lets see how durable it is.

  • Not really fit for purpose

Yes, I accept that this unit does what it says - a 1 sec to 2 hr timer but it lacks a vital indicator (Neon or LED) to say when it's on. With the hit and miss touch switch it's almost impossible to know whether its on or off especially with a towel rail. Although it's rated at 13 amps, the PCB terminals are fiddly and doubtful if they would take the correct gauge of wire... although adequate for a 400w towel rail.

  • great product

instructions very vague , timer instructions are opposite settings to the instructions supplied. excellent switch that does the job, with loads of timer settings to suit you also need a seprate negative to power the switch

  • Watt hour saver

This simple device will help avoid leaving our new panel heater in our church on for too long. it also guarantees that it goes off if somebody turns it on when they should not. Pity it does not have a LED to show when it is on

  • Great value for the money, works well, easy set-up. Small issue of getting conductors (especially stranded) into the screw terminals.

  • Time lag switch

I incorporated switch into central heating system to occasionally and for short period of time boost temp in certain rooms. The switch works fine, easy to connect and operate however in my application it’s missing indication if it is active or not (does not matter if it is used to control the light). I’m planning to add little diode to show if central system has been activated. It is a little bit bulky (sticks out a little bit more from the wall). Otherwise It does what it was purchased for - I'm happy with it.

  • take control of your power consumption.

I received the switch today, somehow I was expecting a traditional pneumatic (as advertised ) thingo with a rubber blader and a vent pipe . Well forget the rudimentary all fashion system , what I have been sent is a "state of the art" electronic timing device. I looked everywhere in my country, nothing. I would have to go industrial (with bulk size and priced to match) or go old style plug-in programmable clock, none of which suited my needs. To conclude I am delighted with my choice, I only wish I had bought the raised mounting block to suit the switch, I will have to construct my own base, and I am good with that, the real issue was to find a practical solution to my delayed switching, and this has been achieved above expectations.

  • It's a good product at a good price (but be aware that it needs a neutral supply)

It's a flexible electronic (as opposed to pneumatic) product. Be aware that it needs a neutral supply (pneumatic generally just need a live supply)
