Skimmer quality yes, build quality no
This little skimmer is a workhorse! It skims like crazy, pulling dark wet skim. I replaced a Tunze Nano with this on my JBJ45 and was shocked at how much better this skims. This skimmer skims at FIVE STARS, however the quality of the plastic used in the skimmer housing is terrible. One of the pieces on the mount area (that goes on the outside of the tank) snapped right off when I went to tighten it to mount it to my tank. Then, the little plastic tab that the Venturi hose snaps into up near the collection cup broke off when I went to unsnap the house from it to remove the cup for its first cleaning. Very disappointed in the quality of the plastic! I’ve been able to rig the skimmer despite these issues and it’s skimming like a champ, however if I had to do it over again, I’d not buy this skimmer due to poor quality exterior build.
