The latest reports from the recipient are that the 5D Mark II is so much easier than the Mark I for someone who wears glasses. The live rear LCD view makes a world of difference. The 5D Mark I has a 'filmic' tone and in fact has a even a cinematic look (which might not be achievable in Lightroom. The 5D Mark II has a clear sharp tone, which is better in some situations. Of course a few tech limitations but as a second body full-frame in complement to a more modern aps-c, this expands your possibilities tremendously.
