Does the job, good value
My background: Old fart RF/Analog electrical engineer, 35 years. Musician (drums, guitar, vocals), part time sound tech. My hearing has a 3-4dB drop at around 2kHz - probably from all the unprotected loud venues I did during my earlier years.
The 8200 incorporates what Behringer calls their "MIDAS" preamplifiers, which the earlier 8000 doesn't. I don't have access to an 8000 to compare sound quality to, but in a live environment where I do most of my mixes I doubt the subtle difference in white noise levels would be noticeable. That said, the new version is lighter, and is laid out well and gets the job done. Mine currently expands the inputs on a Presonus Audiobox using the ADAT out (optical link), which has no problem syncing up.
The only con I can give is the physical robustness of the gain knobs - they move too much (laterally) compared to the knobs of the same size on of my other gear.
