GREAT VALUE
From the low price, you may not think it's going to be the best distortion pedal in the world, but unless you have high end equipment, you're not going to notice any lack of sound quality. The overdrive side is particularly good, so for blues and rock it's excellent. I wasn't quite as impressed with the distortion side, which is why it looses a star, but you can blend the two together, and fine tune with the gain knob, and get some decent tones. If you want something more metal I'd probably suggest it's sister (or is it brother?) pedal, the Heavy Distortion HD 3000 - but for 2-pedals-in-one versatility, this OD300 is awesome value. P.S. If you do buy one, it runs on a 9v battery, but if you want to plug it in, ANY 9 volt adapter will do - don't buy a special one. Or you can buy a daisy chain extension for any 9 volt adapter you already have, and plug in several pedals to the same power supply. The current draw is tiny, and it will just take what it needs - that's how devices work - so don't worry about having a lot of mA (milliamps) - amazingly enough it's having too little current that's damaging, not having too much!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

This verses Jackhammer
I had a Jackhammer pedal but found it too savage and really hard to control--4 double knobs--8 controls to get a very harsh sound--The pedal harks back to the 70's in its simplicity!! I installed it on a Friday and gigged on the Saturday-- with no problems!! For the price--excellent value.
