A very nice, easy to use digital clock radio but backlight is overly bright
This is a clock radio, digital in both its clock display and radio station offerings. You can select 20 preset digital stations, set multiple alarms and easily change the clock/alarm times. Large dials at the front of the unit allow you to easily change tuning or volume, which is a welcome feature compared with the usual tiny volume dial you tend to get on the side of clock radios.
Its footprint is smaller than a traditional clock radio, and it is relatively light.
A lack of auxiliary outputs means that playing radio through external speakers is not an option, so the sound quality, while vastly improved from traditional AM radio due to it being a digital signal, is still limited by the size and quality of a typical clock radio speaker.
I feel that the procedure to access the settings menu is a little complicated - you have to either have the radio on or off and press and hold the menu button depending on which setting you would like to access.
My biggest problem with this product is that, even on its dimmest setting, in the darkness of my bedroom I am still bathed in blue light. The product picture makes it look like there is a black background with blue numbers on it, but this is not the case at all - the clock display is strongly backlit, and you will really notice once the lights go out. My solution is to cover it in a bit of sheer cloth to cut out some of the light.
Overall a good product if you aren't expecting amazing sound and are not bothered by projected LED light.
