Brilliant tool, does the job - Recommended
This is a brilliant tool and does the job. I couldn't think of a better way to remove old fence posts and spikes. I wasn't sure how good it would be, so took the plunge of faith. It was very easy to assemble, and using it was fairly self explanatory. I removed six 4-inch posts and spikes with this, and it stood up the pressures. I would recommend that two people do the job - one to lean on the puller and another to wobble the post or shock the spikes loose with a large hammer if there is no post in it. For the spikes without posts in them I drilled through them and pushed a long heavy bolt through in order to hook on to. The supplied chain is very heavy-duty, and will just grip the wooden post when you apply pressure without any slipping. In my opinion it is worth the purchase even for a one-time use. You could always re-sell it on. Just take some pictures when you are using it - like I did!
