Its often seen as the point Led Zepplin started to change there musical direction and contains many of thier most popular track yet still seems to hold true to first four Albums. Artwise it's cover is prehaps a bit shocking to the modern mind but imagery aside I think the most interesting artistic statement is the lack of album name or the band name on sleave. Instead this is given on a separate band around the sleave not pictured. Give a sort of reverence to playing the album. Ld Zepplin are often quoted as inspiration for musician who came latter and it's easy to see why listening to this album.

  • A pivotal album between the greats of I-IV and the later slide into ordinariness.

Not vintage Led Zeppelin perhaps, but a pivotal album between the greats of I-IV and the less than great departure of Presence etc.. There were other flashes of their brilliance on other albums, it's true, but one couldn't help feeling that this album proved that their best was behind them.

Original 1st press sells for about £90 in mint condition. This reissue is the same music recorded perfectly and is very representative of the original.
