Great generator but with flaws

Great Generator
- I bought it because it has dual fuel capability - It came with a slight damage on the box, but the unit was not damaged - The unit is solidly built, with one exception, see below - The instructions are simple and sufficient, if a little incomplete - The unit comes with all the wire plugs that are found on the generator - The unit comes with a gas gage for the fuel tank - The unit does not come with an hour meter - I bought one for it - The unit does not come with a cover. I could not find one that fit this particular generator size from the company. This is unfortunate as covers are cheap. The ones I did see reviews for from this company are not of very high quality. I bought an aftermarket one that is close to this generator size. Still, it would have been a bonus - Must connect and charge the battery before use - I also included wires for a trickle charger - Must fill with oil before use. There is a dip stick, but considering the acute angle of the filler neck, there’s very little difference between low and full. The sump is effectively full when the oil level is near the edge of the filler neck. Make sure you fill on level surface. It takes just about 2 quarts - It started on the third try after connecting the propane tank, and this is due to operator error. Otherwise, it ran great - The muffler shroud is poorly supported and shakes quite a lot. I’ll probably remove it in due time as it contributes to the noise level significantly. Frankly, I’m not sure why it’s there. Must be a safety thing or regulation requirement. Otherwise, the unit is not so annoying to be around when running. It is an 18hp motor, so it makes noise commensurate with this engine size - Overall, I’m quite happy considering this is one of the only 10 KW units at this price pointVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great generator.
The beast is just as its name states. It has a very solid frame, and its wheel and handle kits were very easy to install. Was suprised to see it also included plug adapters for almost every outlet the generator has. Only adapter it doesn't come with is the 50 amp connector. Started very 1st try while on propane. Very impressed with how much of my home can now have power instead of 1 room like the small generators. I wanted a duel fuel Generator. I was getting tired of bad gas even though I used gas stabilizer . Nice thing with Propane is it never goes bad . It took a week and a half to get here . Took fifteen minutes to assembly and add oil . I picked up a 40 pound Propane tank , hooked it up and it started on the first turn of the key. Make sure your auto Throttle is off . This I would have to check with a load as mine would run rough and shut down . It's a lot quieter then my 4200 Generator . My new transfer switch will be installed next week as my old one is a 30 amp and I wanted to upgrade to a 50 amp . This will allow me to run the whole house . I received the GenSet about 2 weeks ago now. Everything looks good as I prepare for the really serious August - September hurricane season here in Ft. Lauderdale. I'm now in the process of gathering the material I need to construct a 50 Amp interface (rather than a transfer switch) with the all-important lock-out, to my 150 amp load center.
