Great grill for a great price
This is what grilling should be. Lots of room for cooking for a group, heats fast and keeps heat for long periods without adding more charcoal. Works great as an indirect smoker as well once you get the hang of it. Just remember that the more you open the vents the hotter the fire gets. Once you master the vents it's a wonderful grill. Would give more stars if i could. I can't really find anything to say bad about the grill, i use it at least 5 times a week and love every meal I've had.

Charcoal grill has got a lot nicer
I have not used a charcoal grill for probably 20 years this is so much nicer than the old days especially when you can use a chimney to start your charcoal this thing has vents it works great and better taste than a greasy old gas grill. I am going to use this as a smoker also I have installed a gasket and it works a lot better and when shut off both vents shut ,the charcoal is snuffed out quickly and can be reused.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Hands of steel.
I read a review before purchasing where that person complained about how difficult squeezing the handle to remove the ash catcher bowl was. They made reference to a redesign in this area and that the earlier design made it easier to remove. Don't know about that but they are right about squeezing the handle. You need a grip like an arm wrestler! It's assembled now but I will make some modifications when it comes off for the first time. A timeless design creates the classic grill. I have used this model grill in all its forms: 22" kettle, 18" kettle, performer with gas assist and smokey joe. Once you learn how to grill properly you will find that this grill is a top performer. Either direct grilling or indirect grilling the Weber 22" is a top buy. Take the time to learn how to use the flue controls and how to stack/arrange your briquettes and you will take the grill to its full potential. If you unwilling to learn to how to use this grill properly then buy a cheaper grill and pocket the difference.
