Quick and easy Video recording
You have to use this in a usb 3 port with it own power. That a be of a learning curve, but once you figure that out. Your good to go and keep it going. Though I have in the post bought way cheaper usb capture devices that seem to just as good of a job.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great Streaming Webcam HDMI to USB converter
The Elgato CamLink 4K is a little larger than a regular flash drive. It has an HDMI port on one end and and a USB 3.0 port on the other end. It provides a great way to turn a DSLR camera or HDMI camcorder into a Webcam. It works very well. Just plug the cables in to the ports and the computer immediately recognizes it as a webcam source. So software or configuring is needed. The picture quality is very good. I've used it with Zoom and Discord programs, and it works well. This device also supports a few different frame resolutions and frame rates. Others I looked at only supported one resolution and frame rate. Note that this device works only with USB 3.0 ports. I couldn't get a picture when attached to a USB 3.0 port. There is also a list of cameras that have been tested to work with it. But, I don't know why it wouldn't work with any supported HDMI signal from a camera. The CamLink includes a short USB cable to attach between the device and the computer port if needed. Use a better camera for your live stream!
Right after I bought my professional grade 4K video camera, I learned that the next version of it was built with live-streaming capabilities. I lived with that disappointment until now. With the Cam Link 4 K I can now use this beauty for live streaming with OBS. You have to work with the camera output settings a little, but then it works great. Not quite as good as expected
With the Cam Link widely considered the standard and retailing for $120-150 these days, I was expecting optimum performance. I bought my Cam Link to compare against a $12-15 generic cheap HDMI capture card. Surprise! Although Cam Link performed better in color accuracy and overall resolution (no surprise!), it had worse lag. For 10x the price, I’d say the Cam Link turned out to be only a marginal improvement for my use case (Zoom & no need for high res). So consider your needs, use case, and budget. YMMV. P.S. Or if you have Apple devices, consider shelling $40/yr for the recently released (July 2020) Camo app by Reincubate. A free watermarked version is also available. That has been the only solution I found so far which has no lag (works with your iPhone’s cameras).Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

One of the best single-camera HDMI to USB 3 converters on the market.
I've tried a bunch of different devices for converting HDMI to USB and this is my favorite. It's not the fastest, (I had to give my audio input a 250 millisecond delay to sync up with the Cam Link), but it's reliable, outputs a very high quality image, and it's super-easy to use.
