It tastes blah but it works.
I prefer the aniseed in the bottle but it's too expensive to ship. I think it works better and tastes better. Trying the pills. Hard to chew so I melt them in water and drink it (so it's like the liquid form). Wish they had another flavour though. Another fine product blocked by America's FDA
My gastroenterologist put me onto Gaviscon Advance, as a non-pharmaceutical alternative to ranitidine (Zantac). Protein pump inhibitors should not be used daily for years on end, and those of us with difficult cases of GERD and reflux are often prescribed just such dosages. My doc is a tad more enlightened and recommended alternating weeks between ranitidine and Gaviscon Advance. The Advance works about as well, provided I avoid doing stupid things like eating pizza at night. Regrettably, our wonderful FDA allows the sale of foods that contain garbage like BGH, traces of human birth control hormones, and pesticides .... but prevents the legal importation and distribution of Gaviscon Avance. Seems it has not been tested for the obligatory hundred years required by the FDA. Great product, great price
I have been using this to alleviate my night time GERD for the past 2 years. Since using this, I have had no issues. This is a great product at a very reasonable price. The only complaint is that it sticks to your teeth if chewing it. I have found that if you break it up first with your teeth, then slowly suck on it, it is more palatable. Far more effective than any antacid I've tried
I suffer from Laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR), which can allow stomach acids to bypass the lower esophageal sphincter and irritate the throat and voice box. Regular antacids, even regular Gaviscon manufactured and sold in the U.S., were not effective, at least for me. However, Gaviscon Advance, which I buy from pharmacies in the United Kingdom, has a different formula and is highly effective at treating my symptoms. If I start noticing symptoms, I chew two Gaviscon Advance tablets after each meal. The first time, it took 3 or 4 weeks of daily use for my symptoms to disappear. Now, if I notice them returning, I use 2 tablets after each meal for 2 or 3 days and the symptoms are gone for weeks, and sometimes months. I don't know how effective Gaviscon Advance is in treating regular reflux disease (GERD), but it is tremendously effective at controlling my LPR.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great for your Gastritis/Esophagitis!
This is the ONLY Gaviscon I will ever use. I had a sore throat due to Gastritis that was caused by eating a diet high in acid. Not very good

2 tabs before bed is very effective for GERD. Pleasant peppermint flavor. No aluminum or other harmful ingredients. I use a simple inexpensive pill crusher and wash the powder down with a few ounces of water. Great product for a great price!
I started using this after being on Prevacid for about 10 years, then finding out it can cause kidney disease, bone loss and other serious health problems.
