Big bad drive
I was and am looking for the same brand drive but 10 tb. But they are very proud of that extra four tb, so I settled on that sweet 8 tb cause it’s two tb bigger than my six. Both seagate drives and running great. Doing what it does best. STORAGE. One caution I encountered was when I got it plugged in and installed it did not show up on my computer. I worked with it and tried other ports and finally I realized it was not showing up as my six tb drive does(seagate back hub) it was and is popping up as a standard lettered drive so I renamed it #2. I figured it was the hard drive wipe it must of had so it would be clean for sale. I love it it’s quiet as my older one and has more space when my six is full and it buys me time to get a ten or bigger when pricing is right. Ps two are better than one just in case one goes down for good.

At 1 month...great drive. Backup software is useless.
+ Fast and quite. - Seagate's Backup software is needlessly complicated complete trash. FreeFileSync is actually free and simple but must be run manually unless to use operating systems scheduler to run a batch file that FreeFileSync will create for you. I just prefer to back up manually. Also I bought the MAC drive and formatted to NTFS for windows use. + All-paper packaging - No plastic.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

all, what is needed for backup

Great External Hard Drive
I have had so many external hard drives and after a year or two just stopped working. I will tell you this they were not my Seagate hard drives they were another brand. I really like this 8tb h/d it is quiet, compact and was a dang good value I believe it was about forty dollars more for this 8tb than a 4tb from another company. Great value for 8TB of portable storage
It's not the smallest external drive but for 8TB I can't complain. Runs quiet and cool too! On USB 3 it can sustain 125MB/s read/write (tested). On one PC I did have issues connecting to it though, at first it felt like it was a problem with the drive (the documentation did not clear up what was going on) and I spent half a day figuring out that the drive was fine, it was entirely this one PC's problem (system driver issues).Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
