Great for patching up rust holes

This is a replacement for one which ran out to fill in a number of holes, caused by corrosion, on my car. Having sanded them with coarse sandpaper then applied a rust converter I set about patching the holes with this JB Weld, which was left for at least 24 hours to fully harden. Once dry it was easy to sand it flat before the primer stage. This product is perfect for dealing with small holes needing a repair, without the need for conventional welding. I don't have any experience of welding, nor the equipment so JB Weld is ideal for me. Highly recommended!

Don't try it on engine parts that get hot

I welded a carburettor on a lawn mower with it and it fell off when it got hot. If it is JB Weld Original why do they call this NEW JB8265? The high temperature one is like a putty for bunging up holes in things that get hot. I don't think you could could join parts of a broken engine manifold together with it. Richard

  • Good product

My husband has used this product, for a few years know, and would recommend it. He found the best way to use it is to let it stand it for about 2 to 3 hours before useing it, making sure it is just beginning to harden.

  • JB weld is a fantastic product in every way.

this is far and away the best product I have ever used of its type.I used it to fix a petrol tap into my motorcycle tank because the tank thread was damaged.I first tested it by gluing a pair of large new nuts together with this JB weld after cleaning and roughning them they were put into a jar of petrol. After 2 weeks in the petrol they were taken out and were still fixed together and could not be pulled apart.JB weld sets rock hard but unlike many other products it really does STICK.I would recommend JB weld way above any other product of its type.

  • Does what it says it does.

There was a hairline crack in the cast iron crank case of my tractor, which resulted in a significant oil leak. I cleaned the crank case and using meths, followed by a light touch with a power file. I then applied a small amount of J B Weld along the crack line. 24hrs later I started the engine and it has cured the problem. It’s a couple of weeks since I made the repair and so far so good. If the problem occurs again this is an easy and quick fix.

  • Great job on cracked Alloy Sump

Hit a big rock on a car rally abroad. Alloy sump cracked and developed a small oil leak. Classic car, so replacement part very expensive and labour cost also very significant. Drained and carefully cleaned external surface damage. J-B weld applied combined with patch of fine alloy mesh over leak spot. Easy to mix epoxy and applied in thin coat over damaged area. Leak cured and confident to use car with infrequent visual check on repair. Not easy to get attractive finish but nobody sees it and if it works who worries. A truly excellent product that seems to do exactly what is claimed.

  • The best I have found for bonding anything to anything strength not beaten yet

This item appears to have been around for a while and you can almost stick anything with it. Points to note 1. It is toxic, use in well ventilated place it can effect your eyes like superglue. It will also effect your skin and make it itch so wear some protection on your hands. 2. Make sure you use equal amounts from both tubes the final colour is a light grey so not really suitable for white goods. 3 Final strength unbeatable at the moment when allowed to cure I allow 24 hours. 4. Do not attempt to move the item once you have jointed the two broken parts together just like using superglue. There are similar products on the market but this one is as good as any.

  • Unbelieveably strong and easy to use

I was looking for an adhesive to replace bolted-together metal to metal jointing. Glued steel brackets to an aluminium plate. Unbelieveably strong glued joint without any reinforcing fixings touch-dry in 3-4 hours, handleable shortly after that. Leave it overnight and you'll never get it apart!

  • Super strong epoxy.

Excellent gap filling epoxy adhesive/resin. Used it to put broken pieces of metal sculpture together. Very strong bond and as stated in description cured product is sandable etc.

  • Money saver !

A relative who is also a very experienced motor technician recommended J-B Weld. The electrically-controlled mirror on my car had broken internally and it seemed the only way to fix it was to replace it myself - time consuming and expensive or have it fixed by the dealer - even more expensive. I used J-B Weld to fix the motor to the mounting bracket, plastic to plastic. This product is not 'instant grab' which means it has to be held in position for 4 hours + . I left it for 24 hours which ensures full setting. Also it means that you have plenty of time to work the solution, especially in colder climates. So far it seems to have worked very well, it is certainly getting a thorough testing - on the UK's potholed road surfaces !
