Bite the bullet
I have a number of Canon L lenses and a few other high end lenses from Sigma and Tamron. They are all brilliant. This Canon 70-200 2.8 however is at another level. When I first looked at a few test shots on a big screen I was taken aback by the quality and sharpness. My only regret is I didn't bite the bullet a long time ago and buy one of these. It's very expensive at retail price, but lots of nearly new on ebay at half the price. Still a lot I know, but worth it.
